suga-san, mei-san and i are going to have to skip out on dinner with you and miyuki-san this week. mei-san isn't feeling that great, so i'm going to convince him to take a break.

apologies aren't really much except words unless actions back them up, and the person in question accepts the apology.
i don't think either of them can manage that if they're just thrown right back together afterwards. so a little break might help ease the situation into a more manageable state.
their relationship is weird. there's no other way to explain it. i sincerely don't think i'll ever be able to understand it, because i'm just not capable of seeing it the same way they do, however that is.
but i think they'll be okay. and i can say this even while i'm angry with miyuki-san for things he's said. i think amoi has just put a lot of pressure on their relationship, and so they just need to not be around each other for a little bit.
you know how mei-san is, suga-san. he's not always the kindest person. he's said things to me that have hurt, and never apologized or thought about it. here, and back home. that's not even counting when he avoided me. but i know there's more to him than what he shows other people. i always have.
it wouldn't be fair of me to not pay the same kind of faith to someone that mei-san has spoken of the way he has. even if i'm angry with miyuki-san - and i know mei-san is upset with him - i believe in the capacity he has to be good. he just needs to get his head out of his ass.
